Activities around the Area

Walkers – The Rockery Bed and Breakfast is right in the middle of some very scenic routes, we are central to the 100 mile River Parrett trail which starts at Cheddington and finishes in Bridgwater.

So if you are looking for that leisurely stroll or the serious hike you will not be disappointed.

Cycling – We have the South Somerset Cycle Route, 100 miles of route taking you around the South Somerset Countryside.

Riding – The British Horse Society are developing a national route linking riding networks across the country, you will find these through the varied landscapes of South Somerset.

Local Bower Hinton Workshops – Tom Clark Stone Carving Weekends, one to one tuition in a 16^th Century ham stone house, go home with a finished stone carving.

Bower Hinton Workshops – offer a wide choice of skills you can learn including Greeting Cards, Woven Bead Jewellery, Hand Made Felt Bags and Jewellery.

Arts, Crafts & Hobbies Centre at Yandles, Hurst, Nr Bower Hinton.

The Coast – The Rockery Bed and Breakfast is in easy reach of the sea from Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Cornwall to Weston-s-Mare.

Railway – We have the East Somerset Railway and the West Somerset Railway in easy reach from the A303.

Local Stations are Yeovil Pen Mill and Yeovil Junction, 15 mins travelling by car.

Sports – We are surrounded by golf courses a plenty Long Sutton Golf course is only a 10 minute drive away, division 1 football at Huish home of Yeovil Town FC, Fishing lakes and rivers.

Food and Drink – Within walking distance of the Rockery Bed and Breakfast we have The Hollies Restaurant and Bar for that Special meal or try a bar meal and drinks.

We are also surrounded with many excellent pubs and restaurants a short drive away or take the local taxi service from the door step.

We have a local Farm Shop only 2 minutes walk away.

Culture and Places of Interest – There are many National Trust Properties to visit, Classic Gardens, Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Bath & West Showground (events all year round) and Martock itself which is noted for the quality of its fine old buildings, something it owes to its proximity to Ham Hill where stone has been quarried since Roman times.
